End of the world – trip to Sligo

I know that Sligo is not exactly the end of the world, but for sure it is the other side of Ireland. We wanted to visit this part of the island since I remember but there was always something. Finally we packed into the car and went to visit this beautiful place.

As you can see on the map, I wasn’t joking. Sligo it is literally on the other side of Ireland. We had to cross the ‘border’ with UK to get there but no worries, we didn’t need the passports πŸ˜‰

Our first was the Glencar waterfall. I found it by mistake when we were already on the way and I have to say, I was happy that I did so.

Around the waterfall there is a beautiful space when you can spend some time. There is an amazing lake, coffee shop, playground for kids. You can find there also a free car park and toilets. Thanks to the great weather we’ve go a fantastic pictures!

Our second stop was Classiebawn Castle. On the Instagram, this place look unbelievable. Unfortunately we could see it because we didn’t get there. The way to the castle is on private land and people are not allowed to get there. Some of them are brave enough to do that, but we decided to not go there.

We couldn’t complain because the Mullaghmore Head is a beautiful small city with an amazing views. The way around the ocean is included in the Wild Atlantic Way and trust me, it is worth to visit. Kami has decided to go down, to get closer to water. Some of the videos from this place, you see on my Instagram, with the highlights: Sligo.

Last but not least, The Gleniff Horseshoe. One of the most beautiful places in Ireland. This is a trail located between the mountains. Truskmore Mountain on the east side of the road is Sligo’s tallest mountain. There is just one lonely building, old car and bit scary silence. Part of it marked as private property but people don’t really care and enjoy walking all around it. I am just letting you know so bare this in your mind πŸ™‚

Now I would like share some of my thoughts with you. As you know all the social media is filled with beautiful, surreal pictures. Sometime you fell in love with place which you found on Instagram, and then you are disappointed because it is looking totally different. Like a totally different place. You have to remember that what you see on social media is not always real. And if something looks too beautiful, too fake – just check another places, websites to see what’s the story. I have to say that I am editing my pictures but usually I am not going to crazy. Sometimes! Sometimes I feel inspired and this is what I can do. I am showing this because I want to show you the difference but also want you to appreciate my job and honesty πŸ™‚

Let me know what do you think about Sligo? Did you like it? Do you want to see more places form Ireland? Can’t wait to hear you!
